What You'll Do:

The Head of QA is responsible for defining and executing the QA strategy and approach for our products, encompassing strategic planning, process design, and hands-on expertise throughout the product development lifecycle. You’ll lead and grow our small but mighty QA function - setting the vision for quality, guiding and developing the team, and collaborating closely with our Engineering leadership.

This role combines leadership and individual contribution: you’ll provide ongoing direction, mentorship, and coaching while remaining actively involved in building automation frameworks, using AI-powered testing capabilities where they add clear value, writing tests, and executing test plans. It’s ideal for someone who enjoys both people leadership and staying close to the work in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

• Define and execute the overall QA strategy and processes across all products, incorporating pragmatic AI-assisted testing and analysis to improve coverage, speed, and reliability.
• Own both manual and automated testing, including release and deployment validation.
• Build, refine, and maintain QA automation frameworks
• Lead, mentor, and support the growth of the QA team
• Manage QA staging environments and partner with DevOps on CI/CD improvements.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Product teams to ensure quality standards are embedded throughout development.
• Drive continuous improvement through better tooling, process design, and reporting.
• Monitor test results, defects, and root causes, and use insights to improve product quality.
• Act as the point of contact and escalation for all QA and testing matters.
• Evaluate and integrate AI-based QA tools (e.g., for test case generation, test data management, or quality insights) into existing workflows in a way that complements, rather than replaces, established QA practices.

What We're Looking For:

• 8+ years of software testing experience (SaaS preferred).
• 2+ years in a QA lead or management role - experience managing small, agile teams is a plus.
• Proven success in balancing hands-on testing with team leadership and strategy.
• Expertise with test automation frameworks and tools
• Experience in leveraging AI solutions for test case generation, test data management, and quality insights, with a practical, outcome-focused mindset (AI as a tool to improve speed, coverage, and signal - not an end in itself).
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and AWS environments.
• Solid grasp of Agile/Scrum development practices.
• Track record of improving QA processes and scaling automation.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills; comfortable working cross-functionally.
• Organized, proactive, and adaptable - thrives in fast-paced, changing environments.
• Comfortable evaluating and experimenting with new automation and AI capabilities, using metrics such as release cadence, escaped defects, and test coverage to decide what to adopt.
